Annika Wägenbauer

Annika Wägenbauer is a leading innovator in the field of cybersecurity, driving strategic development and expanding collaborative projects across various sectors. With a strong commitment to fostering cybersecurity awareness, she actively engages in European and global forums, including Working Groups of the World Economic Forum, the European Energy Information Sharing and Analysis Centre, and the EU CyberNet community. Annika also serves as an international representative, championing the advancement of cybersecurity on the global stage. Additionally, she holds the position of Vice Chair within the International Nuclear Security Education Network Leadership at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
With an interdisciplinary and multilingual background, Annika brings a unique perspective to the cybersecurity landscape. She earned a Master of Social Sciences (M.S.Sc.) in International Security and Law from the University of Southern Denmark and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in European Studies from The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Having lived, studied, and worked in nine countries, and speaking eight languages, Annika is adept at navigating the complex, globalized world of cybersecurity. Her extensive experience in the German automotive industry has given her a deep understanding of bridging the gap between the public and private sectors.
Annika’s expertise spans holistic security solutions, with a particular focus on integrating ethics and legal philosophy into cybersecurity practices. She is also a strong advocate for increasing female participation in the cybersecurity field, actively supporting organizations such as Women4Cyber Germany and serving as an Ambassador at She@ISACA.
